We have been told of the dangers of second hand smoke, but surely broiler/grill and fryer line cooks are subjected to smoke and grease at a level probably 100 times more than waitressss. Shouldn't they be forced to wear gas masks?

What about construction workers? Shouldn't they be required to keep their shirts on or at least wear sunscreen?

And lifeguards, ought not OSHA set levels on sunblock, especially for those under 18?

Remember what happened to Chris Reeve? Ought not cowboys wear helmets?

Should TV salesman wear radiation suits? And kids be forced to sit ten feet away from the TV--or else?

Should NASCAR drivers honor the speed limit? It would be a whole lot safer?

Should competitive divers wears life jackets?

Should candidates wear rubber gloves and refrain from kissing babies.

Should motorcyclists be forced to drive cars. They're 16 times safer.

Should drivers of small cars drive big ones. We've lost 46,000 small car riders in the last 20 years to the cause of reduced emissions.

And as to fireman, shouldn't they just stay at home?

It would be a lot safer world if we all just did. But then again, home is where most accidents happen.

Dang! Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.
